FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH (FCES) announced the issuance of nearly €5 million in awards by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to support a three year research and development project between FCES and joint venture partner Fraunhofer IKTS.

Pune, India The need for reliable energy supply systems in emerging countries such as India is growing tremendously. Eco-friendly fuel cell technologies will enable an electrical power supply to local prices in rural areas. The Fraunhofer IKTS and the Indian Mayur REnergy Solutions Inc. are going to foster their cooperation.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS develops eddy current based diagnosis systems (EddyCUS®) by which CFRPs can be tested along the process chain, from the raw carbon fiber material to the production of complete assemblies made of CFRP.

On August 20th, 2013, the Thuringian Minister Machnig handed the grant approval for the development of a catalytic membrane reactor over to the MUV Screentec GmbH in Erfurt for the use of "power-to-gas" strategies in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS Hermsdorf.

On July 25 the contract is signed by Fraunhofer and the University of Connecticut UConn for the establishment of the new research facility.

At the construction site of the new research building of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in Hermsdorf it is worked flat out. Built on nearly 2,800 square meters, new pilot plants and offices for industry-oriented research on ceramic materials for environmental technologies are to come up.

Thuringia's Minister for Education, Science and Culture, Christoph Matschie and CEO of the Ernst Abbe Foundation, Professor Jens Goebel have signed the financing contract for the newly constructed Research Centre for Energy and Environmental Chemistry CEEC in Jena on Monday, July 15, 2013.

Saxon companies and research institutions will present themselves on the joint stand of the newly formed "Energy Saxony e.V.". On this occasion they will present their products and services in the field of both portable & stationary fuel cells and gas & battery technologies.

To provide clean and green energy alternatives at an affordable cost, Mayur Renergy Solution (a Pune- & Boston-based corporation) in January 2013 signed a contract with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS, Germany, to develop Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) products for the markets in developing countries.
