The “Economic Analysis and Sustainability” working group develops methods for the economic and ecological evaluation of technologies and systems. Its focus is on the analysis of sustainable value chains and the transformation of economic structures into ecologically and economically viable models. The group uses quantitative methods such as input-output analyses and hybrid life-cycle assessment as well as qualitative social research approaches to tackle complex issues. One focus is the analysis of supply networks and supply chains, for example for water and hydrogen. Through close cooperation with industry and public institutions, the group develops practical solutions and contributes to the sustainable development of technologies and economic systems.
