Johanna Sonnenberg talks about her fight against microplastics in the podcast of Alumniportal Deutschland
Our colleague Johanna Sonnenberg talks about her personal and professional involvement in the fight against microplastics, how an underwater vehicle is supposed to help, and what everyone can do to prevent pollution of the sea and from beaches.
Johanna Sonnenberg works at the IKTS site in Rostock and is dedicated to the fight against microplastics. In the Fraunhofer research group Smart Ocean Technologies SOT, she is involved in the development of an autonomous underwater vehicle. This is equipped with a microplastic sensor that will determine in the future how much microplastic is in the ocean and how this is distributed. Measures to protect the environment and life are to be derived from these findings.
