The Dresden region has always been a place of great inventions (SLR camera, toothpaste, porcelain, filter bag). Today, Dresden is one of the most important science centers in Germany. The challenges we face in the world around us are huge – so it's good that we at Fraunhofer think in terms of timely solutions. In Dresden, 3000 employees work closely with industry and international alliances to provide global impetus in numerous fields of technology.

Thanks to their unique properties, high-performance ceramics are used when plastic or metal reach their limits, e.g. in energy, environmental and medical technology as well as in systems used in the air, on land and at sea.
