The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the installation of a fuel cell power plant in the new BMBF second headquarters office complex in Berlin, Germany.

FuelCell Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCEL), a leading manufacturer of ultra-clean, efficient and reliable power plants, today announced the completion of the previously announced asset acquisition of selected fuel cell assets by its German subsidiary, FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH, including fuel cell component inventory and fuel cell manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the previously announced joint venture with Fraunhofer IKTS has been completed, with Fraunhofer contributing intellectual property and capital to FuelCell Energy Solutions GmbH in return for 25 percent ownership.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS presents the eneramic® fuel cell system at the Fuel Cell Expo 2012. The eneramic® system is a user-friendly and light-weight electricity generator for camping and outdoor activities which can be operated with commercially available liquefied petroleum gas from pressure cylinders or cartridges.

Prof. Alexander Michaelis, director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS, was awarded the ACerS Bridge Building Award at the 36th International Conference and Exposition on Advanced Ceramics and Composites (ICACC) in Daytona Beach in the end of January. With more than 1,100 participants from more than 50 countries, this conference is one of the most important international events in the field of advanced ceramics.
