CEREMONY: Testing and production monitoring of ceramic precision components

Project

Subproject:

Scientific process development and sample preparation beta-aluminate

Aim of the project:

High-performance and precision ceramic components have become indispensable in many technical and medical applications. In many cases, our safety and quality of life depend on the reliability and durability of such components. The quality of these products has to be checked after the production process, either manually or semi-automatically.

This project aims to develop an inline-capable test method based on modal analysis on precision ceramics and electrolyte cups, to characterize mechanical stresses on metal-ceramic composites and to carry out investigations to detect compaction defects, pores and cracks on green bodies and abrasive wear on moulding tools during the shaping process.
